1868 Legacy - Culture in Motion

Collection story

A modern expression of heritage and motion. Designed for culture, built for movement.Rooted in history. Designed for today. Culture in Motion celebrates the intersection of heritage, identity, and contemporary style. Inspired by 1868—the year Hampton Institute was founded and the Fourteenth Amendment was ratified—1868 Legacy transforms history into a distinctive expression of modern fashion.

At the heart of the collection is our exclusive Legacy Plaid, an original design combining royal blue, deep navy, warm ivory, soft gray, and charcoal.

Within its intricate pattern, XIV honors the Fourteenth Amendment and its enduring significance for citizenship and equal protection. Nsaa, an Adinkra symbol, speaks to excellence, authenticity, and craftsmanship.

Completing our signature design language is the 1868 Legacy Laurel Emblem, symbolizing education, academic achievement, and the enduring pursuit of excellence. Inspired by the transformative power of education, the laurel honors the intellectual and cultural legacy that began in 1868 and continues across generations.
